Fund Development Associate new!!

 

The Fund Development Associate is responsible for helping to generate corporate and private giving, coordinating special fund raising events with community/board volunteers, processing donations and assisting with database maintenance, assisting with the preparation of board related function, assisting with the development of collateral/branding tools, assist with grants and the Annual Campaign.  Essential duties and responsibilities include: 

 

Fund Development/Donor/Public Relations

Assist with the Annual Campaign as needed.  Work cooperatively with the President and CEO and Program Manager, to develop and achieve fund raising goals.  Research funding opportunities and assist with preparations of funding proposals.  Coordinate (attend if appropriate) workplace giving events as The CAP Center representative.  Process incoming donations such as the vehicle donation program, workplace and online giving.  Maintain donor database.  Generate donor reports.  Prepare donor information for The CAP Center newsletter and website as appropriate.  Work with staff to coordinate and expedite donor acknowledgment.  Assist with strengthening of donor relationships and reinforce to the donor the value and impact of their gift.  Establish and maintain relationships with community groups, funders, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of The CAP Center for the purpose of soliciting funding/sponsorships.  Produce and distribute Opinion Leader Mailings quarterly and/or as needed.  Assist with the development of collateral/branding tools (such as business cards, brochures, letterhead, web text, etc.)

 

Special Events

Research, plan, coordinate and/or participate in special fund raising opportunities/events. Develop agendas, reports, minutes, rosters, mailing list, event invitations, event programs, event scripts, solicitation/thank you letters, name tags and guest list.  Assist with the recruitment of committee members, speakers and volunteers for special events.  Confirm attendance, event details, and prepare participants for roles in special events.  Solicit and track contributions/vendors for special events.  Participate in community fundraising activities as appropriate.

 

Board Relations

Research, plan, coordinate and/or participate in special fund raising opportunities/events.  Develop agendas, minutes, rosters, mailing list, event invitations, event programs, event scripts, name tags and guest list.  Recruit committee members, speakers and volunteers for special events.  Confirm attendance, event details, and prepare participants for roles in special events.  Solicit and track contributions/vendors for special events.  Develop annual special events calendar for agency.  Participate in community fundraising activities as appropriate.  Review and secure contracts for locations and coordinate appropriate levels of insurance.

 

High school diploma required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Project planning experience. Two years of community relations experience is preferred.  Two years of fund development experience is preferred.  Intermediate experience working with fundraising/database program(s) is preferred.  Must have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.  Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook.  Ability to operate office equipment such as fax machine, postage meter, copy machine, etc. Basic mathematics including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.  Ability to maintain a professional and confidential work environment. Strong attention to detail.  Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt easily to change. Ability to be a self-starter. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships, both internally and externally.  Ability to perform in a team.  Ability to work with individuals and team with diverse economical, social, educational and cultural backgrounds.  Able to deal with highly emotionally people on a professional and courteous manner.  Ability to effectively coordinate and facilitate meetings and trainings.  Excellent problem identification and resolution skills.  Ability to deal with complex situations and to collaborate effectively with personnel in order to provide timely and effective problem resolutions.  Ability to develop, plan, and implement short-, mid- and long-range goals.  Must be available to work a flexible schedule, which may include day, evening, night, or weekend hours.  Must possess a valid California Drivers License, a reliable automobile and auto insurance.  Must be able to travel between sites and to offsite events as needed.  Must pass a criminal background check from the Department of Justice.

 

Project Manager, CAPC Corps - Great Beginnings 

The Project Manager is responsible for providing technical assistance on project development and implementation and AmeriCorps policies and procedures to CAPC Corps partners.  The Project Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all AmeriCorps program components are met as required by the California Volunteers and to provide support to AmeriCorps supervisors and members to ensure their success in the CAPC Corps program.   Essential duties and responsibilities include:

 

AmeriCorps Partner/Site Supervisor Training and Technical Assistance

Provide ongoing support to partner agencies to ensure program success. Serve as liaison between CAPC and AmeriCorps partners. Meet with CAPC Corps Project Partners on a monthly basis. Conduct new site supervisor AmeriCorps orientation. Provide ongoing site supervisors/partners support on AmeriCorps policies and procedures as outlined in the AmeriCorps Program Manual. Conduct site visits to support program partners and members. Provide ongoing support and assistance with AmeriCorps member issues. Coordinate and facilitate AmeriCorps Supervisor quarterly meetings. Support site supervisor’s compliance with documentation, mid-term and end of term AmeriCorps member Performance Evaluations in collaboration with AmeriCorps Support Services team. Facilitate transition between AmeriCorps contract years.

 

AmeriCorps Member Recruitment and Retention

Support partners/site supervisors with AmeriCorps recruitment process including member position description development, outreach strategies and interviewing.  Coach AmeriCorps members and site supervisors on strength-based communication techniques as well as policies and procedures.

 

Project Development and Implementation

Work with the Director to allocate AmeriCorps member slots.  Manage AmeriCorps member slots and service site agency allocation.  Work with CAPC Corps partners in strategic planning to identify program needs and opportunities.  Establish and strengthen partnerships with collaborating agencies.  Facilitate program improvement.

 

AmeriCorps Administration

Work with Child Abuse Prevention Center staff to develop forms and revise policies, procedures, and CAPC Corps Program Manual.  Communicate on an ongoing basis with AmeriCorps Support Services Team regarding enrollment, program and member updates. Serve as liaison between administration, partners, and members. Support Human Resources/Operations Program Manager and partners/site supervisors regarding AmeriCorps member safety and workers’ compensation issues. Provide support to CAPC Corps site supervisors and AmeriCorps Support Services Team regarding member issues including, but not limited to, leave of absences, terminations, suspensions, hours served, benefits, forbearance, orientation scheduling, childcare, healthcare, education awards and AmeriCorps program policies and procedures.  Approve AmeriCorps member leave of absences, suspensions, and terminations and forward information to AmeriCorps Support Services Team. Meet with AmeriCorps Support Services liaison on a regular basis. In conjunction with the AmeriCorps Support Team, ensure that member performance evaluations are completed and AmeriCorps members are notified of completion of service hours and exit paperwork has been processed timely. In conjunction with the Director, work with fiscal staff to coordinate AmeriCorps member living allowance stipend payments and service hours.

 

AmeriCorps Special Events

Plan, coordinate and facilitate annual AmeriCorps program conferences in conjunction with AmeriCorps Support Services Team. Support planning of National Service Days, special events, and AmeriCorps Graduation with the CAPC Corps Project Managers. Collaborate with CAPC Corps Project Managers and other CAPC Corps staff to ensure success of AmeriCorps programs.

 

Monitoring and Reporting

Monitor AmeriCorps member’s service progress in Web-Based Reporting System (WBRS).  Collect data on ongoing basis for reporting requirements. Complete and submit quarterly AmeriCorps Progress Reporting (APR) reports. Monitor compliance with Performance Measures. Participate in evaluation design and data collection planning. Work with the Director on grant proposals. Develop and monitor partner contracts, budgets, and grant compliance in conjunction with the Director.

 

Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) Project

Conduct the Train-the-Trainer training for the SBS Project.  Serve as the liaison with hospitals on a quarterly basis to ensure that programs have adequate SBS materials and respond to inquires regarding the SBS project.  Gather, and analyze train the trainer evaluations and write report.  Serve has liaison for SAC Sierra Regional CAPC Coalition members in order to facilitate the implementation of an SBS Project in other counties.

 

AmeriCorps Member Management and Training

Identify AmeriCorps member training needs in alignment with AmeriCorps grant requirements and member service responsibilities. In conjunction with the CAPC Corps Project Managers and CAPC Corps Training Manager, coordinate delivery of AmeriCorps training. Assist the CAPC Corps Training Manager in the coordination and facilitation of AmeriCorps member orientation. Coordinate with CAPC Corps training team and CAP Center Training Staff in order to track completed AmeriCorps member trainings. Coordinate with Human Resources and Service Site Supervisors to resolve criminal background clearance and subsequent arrest issues.

 

Supervision

Supervise and provide work direction and support to AmeriCorps First Step Coordinator.

 

Other Duties

Participate on internal agency committees as needed.  Attend and participate in meetings as required.  Provide support to agency-wide projects, as needed.

 

Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university required. Three years of experience working with AmeriCorps programs desired. Experience with developing and maintaining relationships with community and collaborative partners. Grant writing and event coordination experience preferred. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.  Intermediate knowledge of MS Word. Basic knowledge of Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. Ability to operate office equipment such as fax machine, postage meter, copy machine, etc. Basic mathematics including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.
